Our fantastic Business of the Month #BOM for September is Izabella Stepowska from Quilling Wonderland. Check out her fantastic quilling cards and quilling packs on her etsy store. We chose Izabella as despite all odds she followed her dream and set up her own business here in Ireland, having moved from Poland a couple of years ago. Her journey involved learning to speak business English!
The beautiful Izabella Stepowska arrived in Ireland approximately 2 years ago and immediately set to work on starting her own craft business. Initially called Slazonias Wonderland she re branded and adapted her business model to re-launch Quillling Wonderland in 2012. Her business was initially founded to sell her inspirational handmade quilling cards. Such was her following she now offers quilling workshops offline and quilling tutorials online. She has also developed a range of start up quilling packs that come complete with her design, quilling paper and tools necessary to build the card.
Quilling Wonderland’s designs have a beautiful innocent quality . The designs are quirky and clever with a humourous outlook on life. Our favourite one is the “support card” – it features a bra! All of the pieces are constructed from paper strips a mere 2mm – 5mm wide. Izabella painstakingly rolls the paper into individual curls and then forms these into the images that are then glued to the card or picture.
Such is Izabellas popularity online, Quilling Wonderland has been featured in several craft blogs and print publications including Profile Tree.
